Blaby occurs as village in central Leicestershire, England, some 5 miles south of Leicester city centre and using the people of about 6,240 (2001 numbers).
When there are pack buildings of spectacular historical or even achitectural interest, old Blaby contains the few ancient & picturesque abode & has a charming 'quaint' sense. Old Blaby as well contains A Baker's Arms, a thatched saloon that dates back to 1485 & is so the 2nd oldest pothouse inside Britain (fallowing 'A Hike to Jerusalem' around Nottingham).
Otherwise 'newly' Blaby is less the village than the suburban area of Greater Leicester, by using virtually all shops & amenitites standing on the A426 between Leicester to the north & Lutterworth to the south. Fosse Park mall & a M1 & M69 expressway come upright two or three miles away.
It gives its title to the Blaby district and also to the Parliamentary constituency that was held by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel Lawson between 1974 and 1992. Since 1992 its MP has been Andrew Robathan.
